Schoolhouse 3.1
I’ve been working now and then on Schoolhouse 3.1, for those of you who keep up on these kinds of things. I’m interweaving my dev time with my school projects and my part-time job, but I do have some small amounts of time every few days to get some work done.
So what changes, you might ask, are going to be in it?
Well, first off, is an autosaving feature. I’ve had several people email me about situations where they leave Schoolhouse open constantly and have accidentally let their batteries die, and thus, since Schoolhouse never closed, nothing was saved. Autosave will remedy this by saving automatically every few minutes if things change.
Next is Course Folders. They will work similar to how Terms did in Schoolhouse 2, in that courses can be grouped into Folders. The folders can represent whatever you choose: semesters, quarters, majors, professors you like vs. professors you hate, whatever.
Those are just two features that are going to be in Schoolhouse 3.1. What else is in store I’m no revealing yet.

Hopefully calendar mode will make a reappearance in Schoolhouse 3.1!

Two things I’d like to see:
1) In 2.0, you could key in something like “oct 20″ for the date and Schoolhouse would automatically convert it to 10/20/09. You can’t do that any more in 3 – and it was incredibly useful.
2) Please give us the option for the Dock badge number to include overdue assignments too.

this thing has single-handedly saved my gpa.
you totally had a right to put a price on the thing.
(ps: sort preferences revert back after you close the program, which always throws me off a little…i know it’s a really tiny thing, and i don’t know much about coding so i don’t know how complicated it would be to change…)

I’ve been using your application for a while and was actually a bit disappointed with the 3.0 upgrade. I am excited to hear that you are working on an update. The lack of course folders has really kept me from using the application. I wish I could revert to version 2.2 until 3.1 comes out because right now I’ve got assignments from a year ago mixed in with current ones. What a mess!
I’m considering buying the application today in hopes that you will soon give us the functionality of course folders!

Number 1 priority in my book is calendar view. I would love to see the return of this highly demanded feature. Thanks for your hard work, hope your making some money from this.
