Schoolhouse 3.1 Released
Today I’m pushing out Schoolhouse 3.1, the first maintenance update for Schoolhouse 3. This build adds several features that were highly requested, including the aforementioned course folders and a new, more powerful calendar view that is more akin to iCal.

First of all, I love the app. I plan to purchase it for next semester, and these changes in 3.1 really helped my decision. The calendar view is great.
If I may make a suggestion, I’d love to see a Grades feature added. A “View Grades” button for people who keep track would be great! I’d love to be able to see my current standing in my classes and where I need to pick up the slack!
Keep up the good work! Looking forward to use your app for the next 3 years!

@Dan: Schoolhouse does indeed have grade tracking functionality. You can enter grades for any task and a course average will automatically be calculated and displayed in the source list.

I really appreciate that you listened to your users and put calendar view back in. I’m definitely going to buy v3 now, although I’m sad I’ll only get to use it for one more semester!

I just downloaded the 3.1 version, but it isn’t working for me. The whole application freezes and the calendar view won’t load. What is wrong?

Just purchased the app for my next quarter in college. I plan on telling all my buddies about this app and hope to get you some free publicity. Since I go to a major tech university I’m sure many of them will be glad to try it out.
I have one issue. Since my school has three semesters a year, we take up to 15 courses a year. This gets things kind of cluttered even with if you use folders to represent each quarter. I’d like to see the ability to make multiple folders and nest them as much as you want. Some examples:
2009 –> Quarter 1 –> ..Courses
–> Quarter 2 –> ..Courses
–> Quarter 3 –> ..Courses
_OR_
Liberal Arts Courses –> 2009 –> ..Courses
–> 2010 –> ..Courses
I think you can see how much more flexible this can be for organization and since that’s the point of the app, it can really help. Other than that I love it!

Logan: Great job on the update. I sorely missed calendar view and it’s good to have it back.

Great work! Autosave is excellent…nothing worse than losing track of what’s due. This is one of my favorite Mac apps as a college student, and one I reccomend to my classmates.

I’m having the same problem as Jean. When I downloaded and installed the update, then relaunched, I tried to press the calendar icon, but nothing happened. I quit out and tried again, and now nothing loads. It’s frozen. At least I can quit back out of it. I would like to use Schoolhouse 3 if it is better now with the calendar addition, but it’s not working at all!!! Please fix!!!

Great work! I used to have Schoolhouse 1 during my Master and I just googled Schoolhouse to see if the app still existed.
Now I see it’s already on version 3! I downloaded and tested the version and it’s really cool!
Just to congratulate you for the good job!

HI ! I have now downloaded and purchased. Now, I want to have an PDF file or something to get me started. Is it possible for you to send it to me, please.
Sincerely Morty.

Those of you having issues with the app freezing when you switch to calendar view: I had the same problem. However, the app isn’t actually frozen, just the UI (some of the interface widgets still work). Hit Command-1 or click View -> List View and the app should work again.
